The current president of Nenohi Cutlery knife company is the second generation owner/president, Yusuke Sawada. He has been surrounded by kitchen knives since he can remember, and by the time he was 10 years old, he was helping his family business by sharpening kitchen knives. From a young age, Sawada received guidance from Mr. Chuichi Ino, the chairman of Sakai Traditional Craftsman and sharpener, and from that time on, he indulged himself in designing and making his own kitchen knives from scratch. Before taking up his main profession, he immersed himself in how far he could bring out the performance of traditional Japanese kitchen knives by sharpening them with a whetstone, and he wanted to master that path, so he took over the family business. Later, as he touched and sharpened the knives by leading traditional craftsmen and knives made by other manufacturers for repair work, he became interested in the characteristics of the best knives and the products of many manufacturers, and the differences in sharpness. The result of these many years of research has been a brand name that is loved by many chefs both at their homeland and abroad: NENOX for western kitchen knives, and NENOHI for Japanese kitchen knives.
Nenohi knives stock status: Nenox is extremely slow at restocking their inventory and we still do not have an estimated restocking date for requests made almost 2 years now. Due to this and uncertainties regarding tariffs, Korin has made the difficult choice to stop taking pre-orders and custom knife requests for Nenohi/Nenox knives until we are able to fulfill our current pre orders list.
