Knife master Ichiro Hattori is renowned for having pioneered a damascus blade technology crafted from nickel and stainless steel. His blades are a favorite with the US Navy. Each piece is entirely handmade. As this is a one of a kind product, there is only one piece available in this particular style. * This pocket knife is not returnable.
Ichiro Hattori is an 72 years old craftsman, who has been involved in knife crafting since 18 years old. Hattori understood the importance of a good blade, due to how his father was the president of the well known cutlery company, Masahiro. However, instead of inheriting the Masahiro company, Hattori decided to open his own workshop in 1971 to produce beautiful high quality hunting knives for international buyers such as Kershaw, Browning, Beretta, and Tekna.
His work quickly received recognition and a reputation from the U.S. market for his detailed hand craftsmanship. The reputation spread, and captured the collectors in the domestic market when he released his own brand in 1971. Since then, master Hattori has received numerous awards from the Japan Ministry of Health for “Contemporary Master Craftsman: Outstanding Technicians in Knife-Crafting” in November 2010.
