This keystone-shaped grater is called oroshigane in Japanese and has been around long before microplanes. Traditional oroshigane graters are widely used in Japan to grate daikon radish, carrots, ginger, citrus and potatoes and remain popular due to their simple functionality.
The teeth are ideal for grating ginger, the root is crushed releasing more juice and flavor, while the fibrous root remains on the grater. High quality copper construction.
*Please note:This grater does not slice or make slices. For slicing equipment please see the Classic Benriner Slicer (HA-1401)or the Chiba Katsuramuki Turning Slicer (HA-1422).
